4 Things to Consider When Buying a New Coloring Book

By Bill Clanton

With so many new coloring books out in the marketplace, it is difficult to know which ones are the best.  So here are 4 tips that may help you make a better decision the next time you are purchasing a coloring book.

  1. Nothing beats kicking the tires.
In other words, whenever you can physically flip through the pages and see, touch, and feel the book you are able to make a better decision.  The in person shopping experience lets you test paper thickness and quality as well as see every page you are about to buy.
  2. Read reviews.
Books on Amazon will have a wide array of reviews to sort through.  This is a great opportunity to see what others thought of the book.  Remember to read both the positive and the negative reviews.  Both types of reviews can prove to be helpful.
  3. Look for books that offer a sample page.
If an illustrator is willing to share a sample page of their book, be sure to download it.  This is a great way to test drive the book before buying it online.
  4. Search for videos of the book.
Youtube is a great resource for getting a better look at a book before buying it.  Many of the most popular books have been reviewed and uploaded to Youtube.

So the next time you are shopping for a new coloring book, you can be an informed consumer just by using these 4 tips.  If you have some additional suggestions that may help someone make the right decision, comment below.
